The Idaho Crime Prevention Association is a network of law enforcement, crime prevention specialists and leaders within our state who have common vested interest to reduce crime and continue to make our communities safer.
Our History
The Idaho Crime Prevention Association was formed in 1981 with the help of a one-time $25,000 grant. This “new crime prevention association” was created to help Idaho fight crime during a though time of reduced budgets and manpower. The legislature back then saw a need for crime prevention training, coordination with both law enforcement and the public, and available resources throughout the state of Idaho. The original ICPA board members worked closely to support each others’ agencies and communities. The same can be said today, many local Idaho law enforcement agencies have excellent working relationship. We communicate and partner well, sharing knowledge and expertise through training, and leveraging resources.
Joining the Idaho Crime Prevention Association is a great way to network and become more involved in the community.
